“Success Depends on the LORD” is a joint exhibition by longtime friends Jim Coates and artist Cathy Abbott. This collection of photos and visual art dates to 2006, when Cathy became the pastor at Arlington Temple in Rosslyn, VA. Jim took a keen interest in her community, and spent weeks taking photos of the city and its inhabitants. Jim then realized that the themes of his photographs resonated with Psalm 127. Arlington Temple hosted these photos for twenty years. The iteration of this show at Wesley also includes some of Cathy’s own artwork, some of which was photographed by Jim.

Arlington Temple closed on July 1st, 2026. This exhibition seeks to honor its living legacy.
