It's December 1223, and St. Francis---just back from the Holy Land---has an idea:  He wants to recreate Jesus' nativity inside the church at Assisi, where everyone can experience it. But Bishop Umberto isn't having it. Until St. Claire offers an inspired suggestion---and a mysterious letter arrives from the pope!

Join us for the December 1st, 2026 chapel service in Oxnam Chapel to see the premiere of Dr. Deryl Davis’ short play, St. Francis and the First Creche.
