Dramatic Happenings at Wesley!

Wit

This spring, Deryl Davis will lead students and volunteers in producing “Wit” in KG-01.  This unique and challenging play explores life and death, living and dying, and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1999 for playwright Margaret Edson. Two performances will be held on Wednesday, April 16th.  The first, at 2:30, will be for the Covenant Discipleship classes; the 7:30 performance is open to all. Other performances will be held on Friday evening, April 18th at 7:00, and Sunday afternoon , April 20th at 2:00 p.m.  A mini-symposium with refreshments will follow this final performance. The Vigil

"The Vigil" will be a staged reading with some limited movement for the March 26th Wednesday evening chapel service. The 15-character play is set in a contemporary day courtroom where a common gardener is being tried for abducting Jesus' body to create a resurrection hoax.  Please contact Deryl if you’d like to be a part of this event.  There will be three or four rehearsals of the play before the performance.  There is no memorization required, but the principal actors, the prosecution and defense counsel, will have some movements and gestures staged in advance.  This chapel service and staged reading will follow directly after our opening reception for The Seminary Celebrates, 2008! making March 26th a great day to spend the early evening in celebration with the Wesley community.
