            As an artist I find the medium of picassiette mosaic’s to be a wonderful vehicle for doing religious art.  Picassiette literally means broken plates. This form of mosaic is made up of broken pieces of china, glass, pottery and may other scrap materials. It reminds us of how Jesus takes humanity in all of it’s broken states of being and makes us into beautiful beings through his death and resurrection.  These broken pieces of  glass and china are resurrected from the leftovers of life and shaped into a work of art. 

            I am a painter but I found it hard to do religious art until I came across this medium that allows me to express myself and my faith in a way that is meaningful to me.
