It is my desire to create works of art that are also Evangelical tools.  I will either draw directly from scripture or of a social occurrence that strikes me.  If I draw from a social event I will then go to the Bible and locate scripture which best relates to the event and drawing.  When acquiring the appropriate scripture I am always careful to include all related verses so as to eliminate the suggestion that scripture is open to interpretation.  It is my desire that the work be a motivation or challenge for people which pushes them toward the Word of God.

It has been suggested that there is a dark or disturbing element in my work.  This comes from the fact that the work is showing the flesh as well as the salvation of the flesh which is Christ Jesus.  The flesh is corrupt and this lends itself to being depicted in a less than pleasing way.  There is also a great deal of blood in my works.  This, however, is not to be viewed as a dark element but as the saving Blood of Christ.  I infuse much symbolism in my work - blood and light (which are Christ), skulls (a human skull is a  representation of man’s original sin), among many others.  If the work depicts a scene which is bothersome to the viewer it is my hope that he or she  will reflect on this bothersome factor if they ever engage in the behavior which is shown in the work.  In the end, my direct motivation in producing art works is the Glorification of God and his Word.
