This CIVA traveling exhibition of icons focuses on the traditional canon and interpretation of Christian holy images. The work is defined by a canonical perspective which shows the many variations utilized by contemporary iconographers within traditional themes. The exhibition examines the historical place of holy images in the Christian tradition within a modern framework.

The jurors were Xenia Pokrovsky, an internationally recognized Russian iconographer now living in Massachusetts; John Snogren, iconographer from Washington, DC; and Jerry Eisley, gallery owner and founder/director of the Washington Arts Group
